The New Teen Titans Annual #4

The New Teen Titans Annual #4, published in 1988, serves as a significant chapter in the long-running DC Comics series originally revitalized by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez. Emerging from the post-Crisis on Infinite Earths landscape, this issue reflects the era's focus on integrating the Titans into a rapidly evolving shared universe. It features creative contributions that maintained the series' reputation for character-driven storytelling, bridging the gap between traditional superhero adventures and the soap-operatic personal dramas that made the original run a landmark in the industry.

The visual direction of this period remained rooted in the house style established during the title's early 1980s peak, emphasizing expressive, narrative-focused panels. By the time this annual was released, the series had become a cornerstone of DC's roster, known for its focus on legacy and team dynamics. While this particular issue functioned as a standalone entry within the larger continuity, it was designed to appeal to the dedicated readership that had followed the team's maturation from sidekicks into complex, independent heroes.
