The Spectacular Spider-Man #147

The Spectacular Spider-Man #147, released in February 1989, emerged during a transitional period for the Spider-Man line as the series moved toward the conclusion of the 1980s. Published by Marvel Comics, this issue was part of the 'The Evolutionary War' crossover event, which spanned across various annuals and special issues of the year, involving the High Evolutionary and his quest to manipulate global evolution.

The issue features cover art and interior work by Sal Buscema, a prolific artist known for his long-standing, rhythmic approach to the character. His contributions during this era were characterized by a grounded, highly readable aesthetic that defined the visual identity of the series. The narrative explores the complex intersection of Peter Parker’s personal life and the broader cosmic threats typical of late-eighties Marvel storytelling, maintaining the title's focus on the character's internal struggles amidst escalating external conflicts.
