The Uncanny X-Men #369

The Uncanny X-Men #369 was published in June 1999 as part of the 'The Shattering' crossover event, a pivotal narrative arc that saw the X-Men struggling with the potential dissolution of their team. The story was written by Alan Davis, who also provided the pencils, working alongside inker Mark Farmer. This issue is notable for its exploration of the team's internal tensions following the departure of several core members and the looming threat of the High Evolutionary.

The creative direction under Davis was characterized by a clean, classic aesthetic that sought to bridge the gap between 1970s character dynamics and the high-stakes narrative style of the late 1990s. The issue was received as a competent transition chapter within a larger, complex editorial mandate to overhaul the X-Men status quo. It remains a definitive piece of the late-nineties run, valued by collectors for its role in maintaining the narrative momentum during a transformative era for the franchise.
