The War of Greedy Witches: 32 of the Wickedest Women Duel to the Death #4

The War of Greedy Witches: 32 of the Wickedest Women Duel to the Death is a manga series written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Makoto Shiozuka. The series began serialization in 2021 within Monthly Shonen Magazine, emerging from a genre interest in high-stakes, tournament-style death matches that prioritize elaborate character designs and fantastical combat mechanics. The narrative conceit centers on a supernatural competition hosted by a demon, pitting historical and legendary female figures against one another in a quest to determine the most wicked woman in history.

The visual design, handled by Shiozuka, emphasizes a dynamic, high-contrast aesthetic that leans into the stylistic excesses of modern seinen manga. Issue 4 continues the established momentum of the tournament brackets, further developing the artist's focus on grotesque and ornamental character portrayals. Upon release, the series was received primarily by fans of battle-royale manga as a stylistically bold, albeit polarizing, entry that leans heavily into spectacle and the subversion of historical figures to drive its rapid pacing.
