Thomas Alsop #6

Thomas Alsop #6 serves as the concluding chapter of the supernatural thriller series published by BOOM! Studios in 2014. The series was created by writer Chris Rob K and artist Palle Schmidt, emerging from a desire to blend urban fantasy with the historical landscape of New York City. The narrative centers on a reluctant protagonist who serves as the Hand of the Island, a mystical protector tasked with maintaining the balance between the living and the spectral residents of Manhattan.

Palle Schmidt’s distinct, gritty illustrative style was chosen to capture the noir atmosphere of the city, intentionally eschewing traditional superhero aesthetics in favor of a more grounded, evocative visual language. Upon its release, the series garnered positive attention from critics who praised its unique intersection of historical fiction and occult mystery, often highlighting the synergy between the complex, moody script and the stark, high-contrast art that defined the final issue's visual resolution.
