Where it came from
Thunderbolts #37 was published by Marvel Comics in April 2000 as part of a series centered on a group of villains masquerading as superheroes. The title, originally launched in 1997 by Kurt Busiek and Mark Bagley, explored themes of redemption, identity, and the moral complexities of costumed vigilantism within the Marvel Universe.
This specific issue features a creative team including writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Mark Bagley, who was instrumental in establishing the visual identity of the series. The narrative continues the group's evolution from deception to genuine heroism, a dynamic that garnered significant critical acclaim for subverting traditional comic book tropes and maintaining a consistent, character-driven story arc over its early run.
