Thundercats Cheetara #1

The Cheetara one-shot issue was published by Marvel Comics under their Star Comics imprint in 1985. It was created as part of the broader effort to capitalize on the massive popularity of the Thundercats animated series, which debuted the same year. This specific issue provided an origin story for the character, focusing on her unique speed-based abilities and her role within the Thundercats team on Third Earth.

The art and writing for the Star Comics Thundercats line aimed to replicate the vibrant, action-oriented aesthetic of the television animation. While these issues were primarily marketed toward children and younger comic readers, they have since gained interest from collectors of 1980s media tie-ins. The series is regarded as a quintessential example of the era's cross-promotional merchandising strategy, blending character-driven storytelling with the simplified, accessible style characteristic of the Star Comics brand.
