Thundercats X Silverhawks, Road to War: One Shot #1

Released in 2024 as part of a crossover event published by Dynamite Entertainment, this one-shot comic serves as a narrative bridge between two iconic 1980s properties owned by Warner Bros. The project was conceived to capitalize on the enduring nostalgia for the Rankin/Bass animated series, exploring the thematic clash between the feline warriors of Thundera and the bionic space heroes of the Galaxy Garrison. The writing team aimed to synthesize the distinct fantasy-tech blend of both universes while honoring the original character archetypes established in their respective source materials.

The issue features collaborative artwork intended to evoke the classic aesthetic of the source cartoons while updating the visual storytelling for a modern reader. It was met with interest from the dedicated collector communities surrounding these franchises, functioning as a promotional lead-in to further crossover arcs. By positioning these characters in a shared conflict, the creative team sought to resolve long-standing fan speculation regarding the power dynamics and technological compatibility of the Thundercats and the Silverhawks.
