Tintins oplevelser. Originalversionen fra "Le Petit Vingtieme" #1

The first installment of Tintin’s adventures, originally titled Tintin au pays des Soviets, debuted in Le Petit Vingtième on January 10, 1929. Created by the Belgian cartoonist Hergé, the strip was commissioned by the editor of the Catholic newspaper Le Vingtième Siècle as an anti-Soviet propaganda exercise. The story follows the young reporter and his dog Snowy through the Soviet Union, reflecting the stark political biases and editorial constraints of the time.

Hergé’s initial style for the character was influenced by the 'ligne claire' approach, characterized by clear, uniform lines and a lack of hatching. While the narrative is often cited today as a rough, experimental work compared to later volumes, its publication in the weekly youth supplement proved an immediate sensation among young readers in Brussels. The serial format defined the frantic, slapstick pace of the early adventures and established the iconic silhouette of the protagonist that would endure for decades.
