Trace: Kasōken Hōi Kenkyūin no Tsuisō #13

Trace: Kasōken Hōi Kenkyūin no Tsuisō is a long-running seinen manga series written and illustrated by Kei Koga, a former forensic researcher. The series draws heavily on Koga's professional background to depict the intricate, often grim reality of crime lab work in Japan, prioritizing scientific accuracy and procedural detail over dramatized tropes. Issue number 13 represents a specific installment within the series' extended narrative, contributing to its reputation as a grounded, technical exploration of forensic science.

The series began serialization in Monthly Comic Zenon in 2012, gaining traction for its departure from typical detective fiction by focusing on the 'trace' evidence left behind. Koga’s intent was to demystify the scientific methodologies used by forensic technicians, a goal that resonated with readers seeking authenticity in the crime genre. The series was well-received by both critics and the public, eventually being adapted into a live-action television drama in 2019, which further solidified its standing in contemporary Japanese crime literature.
