Trouble is My Business – Gefahr ist Mein Geschäft #1

Trouble is My Business – Gefahr ist Mein Geschäft #1 represents a specific German-language adaptation of the classic hardboiled detective genre, drawing heavily from the noir aesthetics popularized by Raymond Chandler. Published to satisfy a niche but dedicated interest in pulp literature and crime fiction within the German market, this series sought to capture the gritty atmosphere of 1940s Los Angeles through a contemporary European lens, blending dark mystery tropes with stylized graphic storytelling.

The design of this issue leans into the minimalist yet evocative conventions of vintage crime pulps, featuring cover art that emphasizes high-contrast shadows and the iconic archetype of the weary private investigator. Created by a team focused on revitalizing classic noir narratives for a new generation of collectors, the series was received as a respectful, albeit stylized, homage to the golden age of American detective fiction, appealing specifically to enthusiasts of international genre variations.
