True of Vamp #3

True of Vamp #3 was released as part of the mid-1990s wave of independent horror and supernatural-themed comics, a period defined by the subversion of traditional gothic tropes. Published during a time when small-press publishers were experimenting with darker, more stylistically aggressive art, this issue sought to bridge the gap between classic creature-feature lore and the contemporary nihilistic aesthetic prevalent in the alternative comics scene.

The visual identity of this series was largely driven by the creators' intent to move away from the hyper-muscular superhero style that dominated the market, opting instead for heavy inks and angular, moody character work. While the series did not reach the commercial heights of mainstream horror titles, it remains a notable example of the niche storytelling efforts that prioritized atmospheric tension over traditional action-based narratives.
