Uesugi-kun wa Onnanoko wo Yametai #3

Uesugi-kun wa Onnanoko wo Yametai, authored by the creator under the pseudonym 'Choco-an,' emerged within the landscape of Japanese seinen manga that explores gender identity through a comedic lens. The series centers on the protagonist, Uesugi, who finds himself frequently caught in situations where he is compelled to navigate life while dressed as a girl, a premise that plays with tropes of cross-dressing and social performance. The third volume continues this narrative arc, focusing on the character's internal desire to escape these roles despite the recurring misunderstandings of his peers.

The visual style of the series is characteristic of contemporary digital manga, emphasizing expressive character designs and a lighthearted aesthetic that balances the protagonist's frustrations with situational humor. As a serialized work in smaller digital or independent print formats, the series garnered a niche following for its specific subgenre appeal. The design choices aim to emphasize the contrast between Uesugi's internal monologue and his outwardly feminine appearance, a stylistic constant maintained throughout the third volume to sustain the series' central comedic tension.
