Uncanny X-Men by Kieron Gillen Omnibus #1

The Uncanny X-Men by Kieron Gillen Omnibus collects a pivotal era of X-Men history that followed the 'Schism' event in 2011. Written primarily by Kieron Gillen, this run was tasked with navigating the aftermath of a major ideological divide between Cyclops and Wolverine, placing Gillen in charge of the flagship X-Men title as the franchise transitioned into a new status quo. The collection serves as a definitive archive of a period defined by intense geopolitical tension for mutantkind and the emergence of the Extinction Team.

Designed to showcase the cohesive aesthetic of the Marvel Now transition, the omnibus features interior art from contributors including Carlos Pacheco, Greg Land, and Salvador Larroca. Gillen’s writing during this tenure is frequently cited by critics for its balance of high-stakes cosmic threats and nuanced character development, particularly regarding Cyclops’s transformation into a more radicalized leader. The collection is well-regarded by fans of the series for consolidating a narrative arc that bridges the gap between major crossover events of the early 2010s.
