Uncanny X-Men No. 159 Facsimile Edition #1

The Uncanny X-Men No. 159 Facsimile Edition is a faithful 2024 reprint of the original 1982 comic book. The story, written by Chris Claremont with art by Bill Sienkiewicz, was originally published during a transformative era for the series, serving as a critical moment in the development of the X-Men mythos and their ongoing interactions with the vampire lord Dracula. Facsimile editions are produced by Marvel to allow new readers to experience significant back-issue stories exactly as they appeared on the newsstands decades ago, retaining original advertisements and editorial pages.

The design of the original issue is notable for Sienkiewicz’s atmospheric, noir-inspired illustrations, which departed from the house style of the time to offer a more gothic, cinematic tone. These reprints are highly regarded for preserving the aesthetic integrity of the source material, providing a tactile historical reference for modern collectors. By maintaining the vintage paper quality and print formatting, Marvel aims to honor the legacy of the creative team while making an otherwise expensive or rare vintage issue accessible to a wider audience.
