Vanilla to Orange #1

Vanilla to Orange #1 emerged as the debut installment of a niche experimental anthology series. Conceived during a period of rising interest in genre-bending small press publications, the issue was designed to explore the thematic contrast between sweetness and acidity through a series of interconnected vignettes. It reflects the aesthetic sensibilities of the mid-2010s independent publishing scene, characterized by a minimalist approach to layout and a focus on idiosyncratic, non-linear storytelling.

The publication was illustrated and curated by a small collective of independent artists who sought to challenge traditional comic pacing and narrative structure. By utilizing a restrained color palette and stark visual motifs, the team intended to evoke a sense of quiet displacement in the reader. Upon its release, the issue received a modest but favorable reception among collectors of avant-garde media, noted primarily for its unconventional physical presentation and its commitment to atmospheric world-building.
