Vault of Evil #11

Vault of Evil #11 was published by Marvel Comics in 1975 as part of a black-and-white horror anthology series. The title was primarily utilized by the publisher to reprint classic pre-Code horror stories that had originally appeared in Atlas Comics titles during the early 1950s, allowing a new generation of readers to experience the macabre tales of suspense and supernatural dread that predated the strictures of the Comics Code Authority.

The issue features illustrations and narratives salvaged from the golden age of Marvel's horror line, showcasing the gritty, atmospheric artwork characteristic of that era. Because these anthologies were designed as low-cost reprints to capitalize on the 1970s resurgence of interest in horror, the design was utilitarian and focused on delivering high-volume classic content rather than original commissions. The series is remembered today for preserving the legacy of illustrators who defined the mid-century horror aesthetic before the genre's temporary decline.
