V・B・Rose #9

V.B. Rose is a shōjo manga series written and illustrated by Banri Hidaka, which was serialized in the Japanese magazine Hana to Yume between 2004 and 2009. The series follows the life of Ageha, a young woman who begins working at a wedding dress boutique run by a fashion designer named Yukari, leading to a focus on themes of romance, professional growth, and bridal fashion. Volume 9 serves as a key installment in the latter half of this narrative arc, capturing Hidaka's signature delicate, fashion-forward art style that became a hallmark of the series.

Banri Hidaka was recognized for her ability to balance humorous romantic tropes with more nuanced emotional character development, a style that earned V.B. Rose a dedicated following in the mid-2000s shōjo market. The design and aesthetic of the volume reflect the aesthetic conventions of Hana to Yume publications during this period, emphasizing expressive character profiles and detailed garment illustration. The series was well-received by readers who appreciated its shift away from standard high school settings toward a workplace-romance dynamic, solidifying its place as a representative title of the era.
