Vision and the Scarlet Witch #1

Vision and the Scarlet Witch #1 was published in 1982 as a four-issue limited series, marking the first time the titular duo anchored their own solo title. Marvel Comics launched this miniseries to explore the domestic life of the android Vision and the mutant Wanda Maximoff following their departure from the Avengers, reflecting a broader editorial push during the early 1980s to flesh out the personal histories and emotional stakes of established characters.

The issue was written by Bill Mantlo with interior art by Rick Leonardi. The creative team focused on the couple's attempt to lead a normal life in suburban New Jersey, a significant departure from the high-stakes cosmic action typical of their team appearances. The series was well-regarded for its attempt to ground these fantastical beings in a relatable human setting, setting a precedent for later explorations of their complex relationship.
