VS Lupin #1

VS Lupin #1 launched as a standalone installment within the broader narrative universe centered on the iconic gentleman thief character. Created as a stylistic homage to the long-standing Lupin III franchise, this particular issue was conceived to explore dynamic pairings and confrontations within the established character mythos. It serves as an exercise in character-driven storytelling, focusing on the interplay between established archetypes and the high-stakes heist elements that define the series.

The visual direction for this issue was curated to evoke the classic pulp aesthetic of mid-century manga while integrating contemporary drafting techniques. The artists sought to balance intricate mechanical designs with the expressive, fluid character work that fans expect from the Lupin lineage. Upon its release, the issue was received as a respectful addition to the canon, noted by collectors for its commitment to maintaining the tone of the original source material while introducing fresh creative perspectives.
