Walt Disney Daisy and Donald #1

Walt Disney's Daisy and Donald #1 was published in 1951 by Dell Comics as part of their extensive line of Four Color comic books. During this period, Dell held the license for Disney characters and produced a vast library of stories that sought to expand the personalities of Donald Duck and his partner, Daisy, beyond the constraints of their short-form theatrical animations. The comic was designed to capitalize on the popularity of the couple's domestic and adventurous dynamics in post-war American popular culture.

The interior artwork and scripts for these early issues were primarily produced by the artists of the Western Publishing group, often featuring the work of creators associated with the Carl Barks era, though Daisy's characterization was distinct from his primary Duck universe. The design reflected the clean, expressive aesthetic of mid-century animation, aiming to provide accessible, lighthearted family entertainment. Upon release, it was received as a standard but beloved piece of the Dell Disney publishing empire, later gaining historical significance as a key collectible for fans of Daisy Duck's standalone prominence in the comic medium.
