Warlord #126

Warlord #126, released in February 1988, is a significant installment in the long-running DC Comics series created by Mike Grell. The series follows the adventures of Travis Morgan, a pilot transported to the hollow-earth fantasy realm of Skartaris. By the late 1980s, the title had moved past its initial sword-and-sorcery roots, embracing a more established cosmic and political landscape within the DC Universe.

This specific issue features the work of writer Timothy Truman and artist Enrique Alcatena. Truman, known for his gritty, detailed storytelling, helped transition the character during this era, while Alcatena contributed a highly distinct, ornate illustration style that set this period of the series apart from earlier, more traditional depictions of the Skartaris setting. The issue reflects the ongoing effort to balance the classic pulp-adventure tone with the complex serialized narrative standards of the late eighties.
