Web of Spider-Man #20

Published by Marvel Comics in November 1986, Web of Spider-Man #20 arrived during a transitional period for the title, which had launched a year prior as a showcase for various creative teams exploring Spider-Man's world. This issue features a narrative scripted by David Michelinie with cover and interior art by Marc Silvestri, who was steadily building his reputation as a dynamic visual storyteller within the industry at the time.

The story focuses on a confrontation involving the Vulture, fitting into the grounded, street-level criminal struggles that defined much of the character's mid-eighties output. Silvestri’s approach to the character design prioritized energetic line work and dramatic shadowing, aesthetic choices that were well-received by readers of the era and helped cement his trajectory toward becoming one of the defining artists for Image Comics in the following decade.
