WildC.A.T.s: Covert Action Teams #7

WildC.A.T.s: Covert Action Teams #7 was published in 1994 as part of the flagship series of Image Comics' original WildStorm imprint. Created by Jim Lee and Brandon Choi, the series launched during the early 1990s comics boom, defined by its high-octane aesthetic and the focus on creator-owned properties that moved away from the traditional DC and Marvel editorial models. This specific issue features art by Travis Charest, whose highly detailed and fluid style became a hallmark of the period's house aesthetic.

The narrative follows a team of superhuman warriors engaged in a long-standing war between two alien races, the Kherubim and the Daemonites. Issue seven is particularly noted by collectors for its role in expanding the intricate lore of the WildStorm universe, balancing the kinetic, action-oriented panels common to the era with the series' ongoing attempts to build a distinct mythology. The reception was largely positive among readers who favored the polished, stylized artwork that defined the Image Comics revolution of the mid-nineties.
