Wonder Man #1

Wonder Man #1 was published in 1986 as a limited series featuring Simon Williams, a character who had long served as a complex, revolving member of the Avengers. Marvel Comics produced this title to flesh out the character's transition from a former villain and stuntman into a bona fide superhero, capitalizing on his increased popularity within the main Avengers storylines of the mid-eighties.

The series was written by David Michelinie and illustrated by Bob Hall, who sought to emphasize the character's unique identity as a Hollywood actor dealing with the pressures of public image and superhuman responsibility. The work was received as a solid character study, praised for its exploration of the tension between Williams's cinematic persona and his life as an Avenger, helping to cement his status as a recurring fixture in the Marvel Universe.
