Wonder Woman #167

Wonder Woman #167, published in 1967, arrived during a transformative and somewhat controversial period for the character. This issue was part of the final stretch of the Silver Age era before the character underwent her radical 'mod' makeover. It reflects the established narrative tropes of the time, focusing on fantastical threats that were hallmarks of the DC comic lineup during the mid-1960s.

The issue features artwork consistent with the house style of the era, handled by contributors who were tasked with maintaining DC's established tone. Like many titles in the 1960s, these stories were designed as episodic adventures meant to be picked up easily by newsstand readers. While not as historically cited as the issues detailing Diana Prince's loss of powers in 1968, #167 remains a representative artifact of the late Silver Age aesthetic and the narrative conventions that defined the Amazon Princess prior to her late-sixties stylistic pivot.
