Wonder Woman #218

Wonder Woman #218 was published in 1975 during a transitional period for the character within the DC Comics canon. At this time, the series was navigating the aftermath of the popular yet controversial 'mod' era, during which the protagonist had been stripped of her powers and costume. By the mid-70s, the narrative began shifting back toward more traditional superhero roots while reflecting the evolving social climate regarding gender and power.

The cover and interior art for this period often featured contributions from artists like Curt Swan and Dick Giordano, who were instrumental in defining the visual language of the DC Universe. The design approach during this era sought to balance the classic iconography of the Golden Age with the more sophisticated, character-driven storytelling that defined 1970s Bronze Age comics. The issue is regarded by collectors as a representative example of the efforts to modernize the Amazonian Princess for a new generation of readers.
