Wonder Woman #31

Wonder Woman #31 was published by DC Comics in September 1948, arriving during the golden age of the character when William Moulton Marston's original vision remained the primary influence on the series. At this time, the title was evolving under the creative guidance of artist H.G. Peter, whose distinctive, idiosyncratic illustration style defined the Amazon princess's early appearances and helped solidify her place as a cultural icon in a medium dominated by male protagonists.

The issue features a cover and interior stories that exemplify the blend of mythology and pulp adventure characteristic of the era. H.G. Peter's work on this run is noted by collectors for its expressive line work and the mythological themes that mirrored Marston's educational and feminist goals for the character. While these early golden age issues were primarily produced as disposable children's entertainment, they have since been reevaluated by historians as significant artifacts of mid-century American pop culture and early comic book storytelling.
