Wonder Woman #62

Wonder Woman number 62 was published by DC Comics in November 1953, falling squarely within the Golden Age of comic books. During this era, the character was under the stewardship of writer Robert Kanigher and artist Harry G. Peter, who continued to define the visual identity of the Amazon princess following the departure of her creator, William Moulton Marston. This specific issue reflects the post-war transition in comic book themes, as the narrative styles began to shift away from the pulp-inspired mythological origins toward more grounded, episodic adventure storytelling.

The cover art and interior illustrations represent Harry G. Peter's signature style, characterized by his distinct approach to character anatomy and bold, expressive linework. As one of the few women in the comic industry during the 1940s and early 1950s, the artistic direction remained deeply connected to the foundational aesthetic established in 1941. While issues from this period are now sought after by historians of the medium for their cultural significance, at the time of publication, they were primarily produced as inexpensive entertainment for a young audience, rarely preserved with the care given to high-end collectibles.
