Wonder Woman #77

Wonder Woman #77 was published in 1955 during the mid-century era of DC Comics, a period often characterized by the transition toward the Silver Age of comic books. During this time, the character's narrative direction was guided by the legacy of William Moulton Marston, though the stories had shifted away from the explicit bondage and psychological allegories of the earlier Golden Age toward more traditional, lighthearted adventure tales typical of the post-war era.

The interior artwork for this period was largely driven by the house style established by artists like Harry G. Peter, who defined the character's visual identity for over a decade. The stories in this issue reflect the thematic shift of the 1950s, focusing on whimsical science-fiction elements and moral fables, which were a standard approach to maintain the character's appeal to younger audiences while adhering to the increasingly strict guidelines of the Comics Code Authority.
