X-Men United #5

X-Men United was a limited comic book series published in the early 2000s, designed to serve as a companion piece to the expanding cinematic universe established by the 2000 feature film. Marvel Comics produced these issues to capitalize on the mainstream success of the movie franchise, aiming to bridge the gap between comic book readers and the growing audience of film fans who were newly interested in the X-Men mythos.

The visual language of this series leaned heavily into the tactical, leather-clad aesthetic popularized by the film's costume design. Illustrators for this run sought to capture the grit and grounded tone of the live-action world while maintaining the traditional sequential storytelling structure that defined Marvel's output during this era. The series was generally received as a functional marketing tie-in, appreciated by collectors who valued the intersection of cinematic design and traditional comic book medium.
