X-O Manowar #47

X-O Manowar issue 47 was published in 1996 as part of the original Valiant Comics run. Created by Jim Shooter and Bob Layton, the series centered on Aric of Dacia, a fifth-century Visigoth warrior abducted by aliens who bonds with a powerful sentient suit of armor. By the time this issue was released, the title was navigating the editorial shifts of the mid-nineties industry, maintaining the core premise of a high-tech armored hero operating within a gritty, grounded superhero universe.

The issue features artwork consistent with the aesthetic Valiant established in the 1990s, characterized by detailed line work and dramatic, action-oriented panels. The creative team aimed to balance science fiction elements with historical fantasy, a signature blend that helped define the publisher's identity. While issue 47 arrived toward the tail end of the original series' initial iteration, it represents the established visual and narrative continuity that made the character a cornerstone of the Valiant imprint.
