X-O Manowar #48

X-O Manowar #48 was published in 1996 by Valiant Comics during the final stages of the original series run. The narrative follows Aric of Dacia, a Visigoth warrior who finds himself transported through time and bonded to a sentient, powerful suit of alien armor. This era of the series came at a transitional time for Valiant as the company navigated a changing marketplace and shifting creative directions following its acquisition by Acclaim Entertainment.

The art and storytelling during this period often emphasized the gritty, high-stakes aesthetic common to mid-nineties comic books. While the X-O Manowar series as a whole is credited with helping define the unique tone of the Valiant Universe, issue #48 represents a piece of the sprawling lore that bridged the gap between the character's early adventures and the company's subsequent reboot efforts. It remains a notable entry for collectors interested in the conclusion of the first volume of Aric's saga.
