Scar for a Scar

Scar for a Scar was originally released as part of the Welcome to Rathe set in 2021, the inaugural product for the Flesh and Blood trading card game designed by James White. As a common action card, it was crafted to provide players with a straightforward, aggressive tool that rewards tactical combat, specifically functioning as a reward for players who have already engaged in a strike during their turn. The mechanics emphasize the game's core philosophy of pitch-based action economy, encouraging a rhythm of offense that defines the Warrior and Ninja classes.

The card’s illustration is emblematic of the gritty, visceral fantasy aesthetic established by Legend Story Studios to distinguish the game in a crowded market. The art captures the high-stakes, direct confrontation central to the game's combat system. While the card is a humble common, its inclusion in History Pack 1—a curated reprint set designed to provide newer players with access to staple cards from the game’s early history—ensured its longevity and availability within the evolving competitive metagame.
