Where it came from
Up Sticks and Run was released as part of the Arakni Blitz Deck for the Flesh and Blood trading card game. Developed by Legend Story Studios, this set was designed to introduce players to the Assassin class, specifically the character Arakni. The card serves as a tactical action that allows players to banish a card from their deck to provide a bonus to their next attack, reflecting the thematic focus on manipulation and precision that defines the Assassin playstyle.
The visual direction for the Arakni set emphasizes a shadowy, high-stakes aesthetic consistent with the world of Rathe. The card's design aims to facilitate the 'contract' mechanics central to Arakni’s gameplay, requiring players to balance resource management with strategic aggression. Upon release, the card was noted by the community for its efficiency in thinning the deck and setting up powerful combat chains, becoming a staple tool for those learning the intricacies of the class.
