Where it came from
The Wartune Herald (FAB036) was released as a promotional card for the Flesh and Blood trading card game, designed by Legend Story Studios. It serves as an example of the game's distinctive aesthetic, which blends high-fantasy archetypes with a gritty, tactical combat system intended to bridge the gap between traditional collectible card games and competitive tabletop wargaming.
The card’s illustration reflects the house style of the early Flesh and Blood sets, emphasizing dynamic action and a grounded, tactile approach to character design. As a promotional offering, it was distributed to players through organized play events, intended to reward engagement within the local gaming community and highlight the game’s unique action-point mechanics during its initial growth phase.
