Where it came from
Released as part of the Star Wars 40th Anniversary collection celebrating The Empire Strikes Back, this Pop! figure depicts the iconic training sequence between Yoda and Luke Skywalker on Dagobah. It was designed to capture the mentorship dynamic of the film, translating a pivotal cinematic moment into the signature Funko aesthetic. The set reflects the broader Funko practice of commemorating key franchise milestones through stylized representations of classic scenes.
The figure is part of the extensive Star Wars Pop! series, which has maintained a consistent design language since its inception. By focusing on the interplay between the two characters, the design team aimed to evoke nostalgia for the 1980 film. Upon its release, it was received as a standard collectible for Star Wars completionists, valued for its thematic focus on a specific, recognizable interaction rather than a standalone character portrait.
