Where it came from
The Alien Twins figure, released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies series, depicts the iconic Grady twins from Stanley Kubrick's 1980 horror masterpiece, The Shining. These characters, who famously appear as apparitions to Danny Torrance in the hallways of the Overlook Hotel, have become central figures in the film's visual legacy. The figure was produced to celebrate the film's enduring influence on the horror genre and its specific place in pop culture history.
Funko’s design approach for this release prioritized the uncanny and symmetrical nature of the twins' appearance in the film. By featuring the pair in their signature blue dresses with matching hair ribbons, the design successfully captures the eerie atmosphere established by costume designer Milena Canonero. The release was met with enthusiasm by horror enthusiasts and film collectors alike, serving as a tangible tribute to one of the most recognizable scenes in cinematic history.
