Where it came from
Anthea, represented here as figure number 1285 in the Pop! Movies line, is a character from the 2022 film 'Strange World' produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The character was designed to reflect the film's vibrant and surreal subterranean aesthetic, featuring the distinctive, oversized head and stylized proportions characteristic of Funko's design language. This figure was released as part of the initial wave of tie-in merchandise intended to capture the colorful visual identity of the movie's unique environment.
The figure was produced by Funko to accompany the release of the feature film, focusing on the character's unique appearance as a sentient, humanoid organism found within the film's fictional world. Like many figures in the Pop! Movies series, the design emphasizes simplicity and recognizability, distilling the character's complex, ethereal textures into the trademark vinyl form. It was aimed at both general collectors of animation-themed vinyl figures and fans of Disney's modern film catalog.
