Where it came from
Apprentice Mickey was released in 2018 as part of the Pop! Disney series to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Mickey Mouse's debut. This figure specifically honors the iconic 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' segment from the 1940 animated feature Fantasia, a role that remains one of the most recognizable portrayals of the character in cinematic history.
The figure features Mickey wearing his signature red sorcerer's robe and tall blue star-and-moon hat. Designed within the standard Funko aesthetic, it emphasizes the character's whimsical expression and pose. It was received by collectors as a foundational piece for the Mickey's 90th Birthday sub-line, effectively bridging the gap between classic Disney animation and modern vinyl toy culture.
