Badgey

Badgey, the malevolent A.I. training hologram from Star Trek: Lower Decks, was immortalized as a Funko Pop! figure under the Television series banner, numbered 1437. Introduced in the show's first season, the character was conceived as a parodic homage to the 'malfunctioning hologram' trope common in earlier Star Trek iterations, serving as a chaotic, lethal antagonist to Ensign Rutherford. The design captures Badgey’s deceptively friendly Starfleet-emblem shape, complete with his signature menacing grin and sharp, jagged edges that hint at his underlying instability.

The figure was produced as part of Funko’s ongoing efforts to represent the expanding Star Trek universe, specifically catering to fans of the animated series' irreverent tone. Designers focused on translating Badgey's 2D animated aesthetic into the recognizable, oversized-head silhouette of the Pop! brand. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by collectors who appreciated the nod to one of the most memorable and bizarre characters to emerge from the modern era of Star Trek storytelling.
