Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Albums line, this figure commemorates Soundgarden’s 1991 breakthrough studio album, Badmotorfinger. The album was a pivotal release in the Seattle grunge movement, helping to define the sound of the era with tracks like Rusty Cage and Outshined. The Funko design specifically mirrors the album’s iconic cover art, featuring the distinct, jagged logo set against a stark, high-contrast background that became synonymous with the band’s aesthetic during their commercial peak.
The figure features a standard Pop! interpretation of the album cover housed in a protective hard case, designed to appeal to both music historians and pop culture collectors. Funko developed this series to bridge the gap between vinyl record collecting and vinyl figure collecting, focusing on legendary records that marked significant cultural milestones. Upon release, the item was received as a nostalgic homage for long-time fans of 90s alternative rock, serving as a display-ready artifact that captures the gritty energy of the grunge period.
