Where it came from
The Bearded Lady Funko Pop! figure was released as part of the Pop! Movies line, specifically commemorating the 2017 musical drama The Greatest Showman. Produced by Funko, the figure depicts the character Lettie Lutz, portrayed by Keala Settle in the film, capturing her iconic appearance as the show's vocalist. This collectible was designed to pay homage to the film's central themes of self-acceptance and the celebration of individuality within the context of 19th-century circus history.
The design process for this figure focused on replicating the character's distinct costume, including her floral dress and prominent facial hair, which serves as a visual shorthand for the film's message of embracing one's unique identity. Like many entries in the Pop! Movies series, the figure utilizes the standard stylized aesthetic of oversized heads and simplified features, which has become a hallmark of Funko's design language. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the movie and collectors of theater-themed memorabilia, serving as a popular character piece within the broader range of film-inspired figures.
