Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line, this figure captures the character Bob Wiley from the 1991 comedy film What About Bob?. The design recreates the iconic look of Bill Murray’s character, specifically featuring him in the bright orange life vest he insists on wearing for safety throughout his visit to Lake Winnipesaukee. The figure serves as a nostalgic tribute to a cult classic character known for his overwhelming neuroses and penchant for 'baby stepping' his way through life.
The figure was released to coincide with wider Funko initiatives celebrating 90s cinema, appealing to fans of the film's unique brand of humor and the memorable chemistry between Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss. Funko’s design team opted for this specific wardrobe choice as it is the character's most recognizable visual signature. Like many entries in the Movies line, the piece was designed to be instantly recognizable to fans, prioritizing character-defining details over complex articulation or accessories.
