Boromir Meme

The Boromir Pop! figure, designated number 1709 in the Pop! Movies line, draws its inspiration from the iconic 2001 film adaptation of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Specifically, this figure captures the meme-worthy moment during the Council of Elrond where Boromir, played by Sean Bean, utters the line, 'One does not simply walk into Mordor.' This scene became an enduring staple of internet culture, often repurposed to express the difficulty or impossibility of a given task.

Funko designed this particular figure to lean directly into its status as a piece of digital folklore, rather than a standard character representation. The sculpt emphasizes Boromir's intense, hand-gesturing pose from the film’s dialogue, aimed at collectors who appreciate the intersection of cinematic history and internet humor. By isolating this specific moment of high melodrama, Funko tapped into a widespread cultural recognition that transcends the character's traditional role in the fantasy genre.
