Brainy Smurf

Brainy Smurf is part of the Pop! Animation line, a long-running series by Funko that reimagines beloved characters from cartoons and comics as stylized vinyl figures. The figure features the character's signature thick-rimmed glasses and academic expression, designed to embody his role as the self-appointed intellectual of the Smurf village. First introduced by the Belgian artist Peyo in 1958, the Smurfs became a global cultural phenomenon through their 1980s animated series, which remains the primary visual reference for this specific collectible design.

Funko released this figure to capture the nostalgia of fans who grew up watching the Hanna-Barbera produced series. The design relies on the company’s standardized aesthetic—large, expressive eyes and a blocky, compact body—which has become a hallmark of modern pop culture collecting. The piece is widely recognized for its faithful recreation of the character's distinct personality traits, maintaining a clean and minimalist look that appeals to both casual fans and dedicated collectors of 1980s media artifacts.
