Caretaker

The Caretaker Funko Pop, numbered 263 in the Star Wars line, was released in 2017 to coincide with the theatrical debut of Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi. These figures were produced to represent the Lantillians, an amphibious, non-verbal species tasked with maintaining the ancient Jedi structures on the remote planet of Ahch-To. The design team at Funko aimed to capture the distinct, hooded, and cloaked appearance of the creatures, characterized by their weathered, earth-toned robes and staff-wielding posture, which were intended to evoke the isolated, monastic atmosphere of the film's setting.

This figure belongs to the broader The Last Jedi collection, which sought to expand the breadth of the Star Wars toy line by including background species and unique denizens of the sequel trilogy rather than just primary protagonists. Upon release, the Caretaker was received by the collecting community as a niche addition that catered specifically to fans of creature design and background world-building. While it did not reach the broad cultural saturation of central characters like Rey or Kylo Ren, it remains a notable piece for collectors focusing on the intricate creature effects and diverse alien aesthetics showcased throughout the modern Star Wars films.
