Where it came from
The Cinderella (Dancing) (Shimmering) Funko Pop, numbered 222 in the Disney series, was released to commemorate the classic 1950 animated film. This specific variant features a shimmering finish applied to the iconic ballgown, a design choice intended to capture the magical transformation sequence orchestrated by the Fairy Godmother. It represents the broader Funko strategy of releasing 'chase' or specialty variants to provide collectors with a more premium, textured aesthetic compared to the standard matte finish of the base figure.
The design draws directly from the climax of the film, depicting Cinderella in her signature blue dress during her dance with Prince Charming. Funko's designers focused on replicating the simplified, large-eyed aesthetic that has become the hallmark of the Pop! line since its inception in 2010. Upon release, the figure was well-received within the Disney collector community, appealing to both animation enthusiasts and fans of the long-standing Pop! vinyl series who prioritize character-specific details and unique material finishes.
