Where it came from
The Colin Robinson Funko Pop, numbered 1328 in the Pop! Television line, was produced to celebrate the energy-draining vampire character from the hit FX mockumentary series What We Do in the Shadows. Released as part of a wider wave of figures depicting the show's supernatural ensemble, the design captures the character's signature mundane aesthetic, complete with his nondescript button-down shirt and glasses. It is intended to reflect the satirical nature of the show, which blends supernatural tropes with the banal realities of modern life.
The figure’s design focuses on the character's unremarkable appearance, which is central to his role as an energy vampire who feeds on boredom and frustration. By choosing a standard office-setting pose, the designers aimed to highlight the contrast between Colin Robinson’s supernatural identity and his blending-in persona. Upon release, the figure was well-received by fans of the franchise for its faithful adherence to the actor Mark Proksch’s portrayal, serving as a humorous nod to the character's pervasive presence in the series.
