Where it came from
The Dark Elf Funko Pop, numbered 37 in the Pop! Marvel series, was released in 2013 to coincide with the theatrical debut of the film Thor: The Dark World. As part of the initial wave of figures tied to the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel, it was designed to represent the Malekith-led infantry of Svartalfheim, characterized by their distinct, mask-like features and armored aesthetic consistent with their appearance in the movie.
The design of the figure adheres to the traditional Funko Pop aesthetic, featuring the signature oversized head and simplified, stylized proportions that defined the series' expansion into major blockbuster franchises during the early 2010s. The item was received as a standard collectible for fans of the Thor series, serving as an entry in the broader effort to expand the Marvel character roster during the second phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
